William
Crona

literary agent

My name is William Crona and I joined Sebes Bisseling Kleuver after having worked as a literary agent for Albatros Agency and Bonnier Rights. I was born in Sweden but was raised and lived in London for most of my life. After studying literature and history at the universities of Oxford and Sussex, I began working in publishing in London, starting out at Eccles Fisher Associates, RCW, and Oberon Books. Before becoming an agent, I gained experience in editorial, translation, scouting, and worked for several years in the film and TV industry.

I am an internationalist at heart and love working with books that can reach beyond their country of origin. Having grown up in two cultures and with two languages, it was always crushing to find that a book I loved in one language didn’t exist in another. For me, this is what being an agent is about: bringing quality work to new languages, new countries, and new readers, as well as new forms like film and television. I love developing an idea with an author, helping them shape and craft the material to perfection before bringing it to a publisher.

I work primarily with Scandinavian authors, writing in their native language or in English, as well as UK-based authors. In non-fiction, I am looking for writers with big ideas and a personal take on subjects like history, economics, politics, psychology, smart-thinking, health and wellness, relationships and sexuality, nature, practical philosophy, and narrative memoir. In fiction, I mainly represent literary fiction and crime/thriller novels. Some authors I’ve read and loved recently are Edouard Louis, Zadie Smith, Kazuo Ishiguro, Agri Ismaïl, and Klas Östergren.
